The information provided below will help you understand how the Exam Delivery Method you choose for exams will impact your students.
Understanding the Exam Delivery Methods
Where and how students will complete proctored exams is determined by whether the exam is online or paper (also known as the Exam Medium in the Proctored Exams Portal) and your preference as the course instructor.
Iowa City Test Center Only
Typically used to allow individuals or small groups of students taking In-Person courses to schedule exams with accommodations and/or makeup exams at a Campus Test Center.
Requirements:
Exam Audience - Individual (not available for All Student exams)
Iowa City Test Center or Virtual Proctor
When selected, all students in Online and Hybrid courses may choose to schedule exams at a Campus Test Center or complete exams using the virtual proctoring platform Honorlock.
Requirements:
Exam Medium - ICON (not available for paper or other online exams)
Virtual Proctor Only
When selected, all students in Online and Hybrid courses must test using the virtual proctoring platform Honorlock. Students will not schedule exams at a Campus Test Center.

Exam Medium - ICON (not available for paper or other online exams)
Iowa City Test Center or Off-Campus Proctor
When selected, all students in Online and Hybrid courses may choose to take paper exams at a Campus Test Center or with an off-campus proctor.
Requirements:
Exam Medium - Paper (not available for ICON or other online exams)
NOTE: Paper exams in online courses are rare.
