Use of Campus Test Centers is by appointment only. Use the Proctored Exams Portal in ICON to schedule, cancel, or reschedule appointments for your University of Iowa exams. We recommend you schedule early to secure your preferred timeslot.

Schedule an appointment

  1. Log in to ICON and open your course.
  2. Open the Proctored Exams Portal.
  3. Locate the exam in your list of “Assigned Proctored Exams.”
  4. Find and select the link to schedule in the “Status” column.
  5. To schedule at a Campus Test Center, choose a date and time from the list that appears. Then, select schedule.
  6. The assigned exam will now appear under “Scheduled Proctored Exams.” 

 

Cancel an appointment

  1. Log in to ICON and open your course.
  2. Open the Proctored Exams Portal.
  3. Locate the exam in your list of “Scheduled Proctored Exams.”
  4. Select the link to cancel in the “Status” column.
  5. The exam will now returns to your list of “Assigned Proctored Exams.” 

Reschedule an appointment

  1. Log in to ICON and open your course.
  2. Open the Proctored Exams Portal.
  3. Locate the exam in your list of “Scheduled Proctored Exams.”
  4. Select the link to cancel in the “Status” column.
  5. The exam returns to your list of "Assigned Proctored Exams."
  6. Now, find and select the link to schedule in the "Status" column.
  7. To schedule at a Campus Test Center, choose a date and time from the list that appears. Then, select schedule.
  8. To take an exam with the virtual proctor, there is nothing further you need to do in the Proctored Exams Portal. No scheduling is needed for this type of proctoring.

UI Exams not scheduled using the Proctored Exams Portal

It is not necessary to schedule exam appointments in the Proctored Exams Portal to complete exams online with Honorlock or take paper exams at an off-campus test center. 

Exams with the virtual proctor

It is not necessary to schedule an exam appointment in the Proctored Exams Portal to complete an exam using Honorlock.

You simply complete the Practice Exam in ICON to ensure your device is compatible, then take the exam within the designated exam window. 

Scheduling paper exams with an off-campus proctor

You do not use the Proctored Exams Portal to schedule a paper exam with an off-campus proctor.

Instead, identify an alternate test center and submit details for approval. Once your proctor is approved you can schedule an appointment at that location.
